On 15 May 2026, the University of New York Tirana hosted the Formal Recognition Ceremony for the new teaching modules developed under the Erasmus+ GITEKA Project. The event brought together rectors and senior representatives from higher education institutions in Albania and Kosovo, along with project management teams and academic staff involved in the implementation of the project.

The ceremony represented an important milestone in the GITEKA project, formally acknowledging the successful development and institutional adoption of innovative teaching modules designed to modernize higher education practices. The modules focus on strengthening project-based learning, competency-based assessment, and the integration of innovative pedagogical approaches that better align academic programs with labour market needs.

The event provided an opportunity for institutional leaders to reaffirm their commitment to educational innovation and to recognize the dedicated work of academic and administrative staff who contributed to the design and validation of the modules. By formally endorsing these new learning resources, partner institutions demonstrated their readiness to integrate the project outcomes into their curricula and ensure their long-term sustainability.

Representatives from Universum International College participated in the ceremony together with partners from across the region, highlighting the strong collaboration that underpins the GITEKA project. Through joint development, peer learning, and international cooperation, the consortium is working to enhance teaching quality and support the modernization of higher education in the Western Balkans.
